The Grand Banks 42 Classic is arguably the world's most iconic coastal cruising yacht. The legendary tri-cabin cruiser was originally launched in wood in the 1960's. Over 1550 GB42's of various configurations were built before the model was retired. . After some twenty years of cruising the Bahamas, this owner knows what he is talking about when he says "INDEPENDENCE is ready to cruise to the Bahamas tomorrow, she needs nothing."
WALKTHROUGH
Step into the Salon through the port midship door. The salon features a large L-settee and teak coffee/dining table to starboard; this settee converts to an additional berth. The galley is to port and forward across from the lower helm to starboard. Just aft of the galley on the port side is the salon's entertainment left with TV, Stereo and DVD player.
Stairs lead down to the private master stateroom located fully aft. Upon entry, you will find a large hanging locker directly to port and a single berth just aft with storage below and aft. A queen berth is to starboard with three (3) storage drawers below. In between these two berths is a vanity/desk and set of six (6) storage drawers. The en suite head and stall shower are to starboard just forward of the queen berth. A full length mirror is on the forward bulkhead next to the stairs. Aft is a door to the exterior deck.
The VIP guest stateroom is fully forward down a few steps. This stateroom features a V-berth with insert, storage drawers below the berth, reading lamps and a spacious hanging locker to port. The VIP guest head and shower are located to starboard and accessible from this stateroom and also from the companionway.
The Guest Stateroom is to starboard with twin berths, nightstand/cabinet, reading lamps and storage drawers.
