Grand Banks Kicks Off Lauderdale Boat Show on Wave of Strong Sales Production schedule sold out despite industry downturn.
|
SEATTLE – October 25, 2007 –
Grand Banks Yachts comes to the 2007 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show riding a strong wave of sales that has helped the company fill the production schedule for its 2008 models, and launch the 2009 model year with a solid start.
The news follows several consecutive years of record sales for Grand Banks.
"We're very enthusiastic about our results for second half of this fiscal year," said Neil McCurdy, Vice President of Sales for Grand Banks Yachts. "Despite a challenging market, sales have remained strong. An exciting lineup of new models, along with the best dealer network in the industry, has made for a winning combination."
Earlier this month Grand Banks hosted all members of its Authorized Dealer Network in Newport, RI, for the company’s 2007 Worldwide Dealer Meeting. Attendance was bolstered by the recent addition of several new GB dealers in markets across the globe, including Russia, Turkey, Spain and Southern France. Also in Newport was a team from R Marine, dealer network for Riviera throughout Australia and New Zealand, now representing Grand Banks in that region.
At the meeting, Grand Banks gave its dealers their first close look at the recently-announced 41 Heritage EU. Featuring the joystick-controlled Zeus propulsion system from Cummins, the 41EU is a bold new take on the iconic Grand Banks trawler design.
"Dealer reaction to the 41 Heritage EU was incredibly positive," said McCurdy. "By the end of the day, every dealer in attendance had placed an order for one boat, and most wanted more."
Other models in the Heritage Series remain strong sellers as well. The 47 Heritage – launched just two years ago at a Lauderdale show plagued by hurricane Wilma – is already nearing 70 hulls sold or on order.
Grand Banks also secured many new orders for the new 55 Eastbay SX, which will have its international debut in Fort Lauderdale. With multiple retail sales of the 55SX already on the books, GB dealers increased their stock orders to keep up with growing interest in this newest Downeast-style cruiser from Grand Banks
Said McCurdy, "Coming off our 50-year anniversary, this has been a great way to launch the next half-century, highlighting the innovation and excitement that has been our focus at Grand Banks."
