Grand Banks 47 Heritage EU Nominated “European Powerboat of the Year”
Newest Version of Popular GB Model will be Featured at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, Site of Awards Event

SEATTLE – January 9, 2007 –
Grand Banks Yachts has been honored with the nomination of its much-acclaimed 47 Heritage EU as “European Powerboat of the Year.” The nomination ranks the 47EU among the top five boats in her size category, a reflection of the superior quality and performance characteristics that have already earned the new model high praise among critics.

Grand Banks launched the new 47 Heritage EU one year ago in Europe and other markets worldwide. The 47EU continues the proudly nautical styling that has made earlier models like the GB42 one of the most successful production cruising yachts of all time, particularly in Europe.
This is, however, a completely new model—starting from the keel up with a new modified deep-V planing hull design. With optional 500-hp diesels on board, she can quickly reach speeds upwards of 24 knots in comfort. The cored fiberglass hull features a more raked and flared bow, twin propeller tunnels and underwater exhaust—all designed for a supremely safe, quiet and comfortable ride.
Inside, the 15’-3” beam translates to spacious accommodations with outstanding visibility. Below deck the 47EU offers two staterooms and two heads with full showers, including a private en suite in the master cabin. The overall interior, with styling by Design Unlimited (UK), is lighter, brighter and more contemporary throughout.
The European Powerboat Award is an initiative of the leading European motorboat magazines: Barche a Motore (Italy), Boote (Germany), Neptune (France), Swissboat (Switzerland) and Yachtsrevue (Austria). As always, the winner of the European Powerboat Award will be announced at a special event during the Dusseldorf Boat Show, “boot 2007,” which runs January 20-28.
The 47 Heritage EU will be featured at this year’s show, along with the new Grand Banks 39 Eastbay SX. In February, the “classic” version of the 47EU – the tri-cabin 47 Heritage CL – will make her highly-anticipated debut at the Miami International Boat Show.
