SEATTLE – October 26, 2006 –
Grand Banks Yachts continues to bring new “curve appeal” to its acclaimed Eastbay Series with the introduction of the new 45 Eastbay SX. The company, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, announced the model at the 2006 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“Response in Lauderdale to word of the 45SX has been phenomenal,” said Neil McCurdy, Vice President of Sales for Grand Banks Yachts. “She’s the epitome of the Eastbay Series: fast, elegant and exhilarating, with all the proven quality and incredible craftsmanship that people expect from a Grand Banks.”
That craftsmanship starts with a composite hull designed by C. Raymond Hunt Associates. All Eastbay models share the proven Hunt design, which owners continue to appreciate for its solid performance through all manner of seas. Standard twin 455-hp diesel engines will have the 45SX quickly topping 25 knots, with larger performance packages available for even higher speeds.
The 45SX continues the stylish evolution that other recent models like the 47FB and 39SX have brought to the Eastbay Series. New features include a seated helm station, standard power sunroof, and a main aft salon window that disappears at your command. The result is a bright and airy salon that opens gracefully to the aft cockpit, where built-in seating and hand-laid teak add to the comfort and luxury.
Owners can choose from a standard galley-down layout, or a unique galley-up version that maintains plenty of seating in the salon. Accommodations on the 45SX are superior to any in her class, with a generous master stateroom that includes a private head with stall shower. Class-leading amenities include standard Stidd helm seats, granite countertops, and handcrafted teak throughout.
The 45 Eastbay SX will make her North American debut at the 2007 Miami International Boat Show.
