Grand Banks Yachts: Big On Oceania New people, new models, and new service centers mark GB’s strong focus on the region
|
SEATTLE – April 17, 2006 –
As Grand Banks Yachts marks its 50-year anniversary, the company has made several big moves in recent weeks to strengthen its presence in Australia, and its support of Grand Banks owners throughout Oceania.
The company recently named Peter Brown as its first sales manager for the region, who emphasized the importance of Australia and New Zealand to Grand Banks: “We are working hard to be sure all boaters in this region will have more access to sales and service organizations commensurate with the high quality of our product.” Part of that commitment, he said, is the appointment of two new authorized service centers in Australia, Noakes and Marine Engineering Consultants.
Noakes Boats and Shipyards, with full service locations in Sydney, Newcastle and Nelson Bay, is one of the most well-known and respected marine maintenance and repair facilities in New South Wales. Noakes, who recently commissioned a new Grand Banks 52 Heritage EU, provides the same high standard of consistency and quality at each location, ensuring peace of mind for Grand Banks owners across virtually the entire eastern seaboard of Australia.
Also appointed was Marine Engineering Consultants (MEC), located at the Gold Coast City Marina with outlets in Brisbane and Mackay. MEC was established in 1992 and has built a sterling reputation for complete marine service to an ever-growing list of satisfied clients. Recently, MEC was responsible for commissioning a new Grand Banks 47 Eastbay FB, a swift and stylish Downeast-style flybridge cruiser that makes its Australian debut at the 2006 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show this May.
The new 47 Eastbay FB is just one of several new models recently introduced by Grand Banks. Also in the Eastbay Series, the all-new 39SX brings many of the same design features and high-quality appointments of the 47FB to a smaller-sized enclosed salon cruiser. In the company’s Heritage Series, the highly acclaimed 44EU brings more speed, space and sophistication to Grand Banks iconic trawler-style model line.
The all-new 59 Aleutian RP launched in early 2006, and already this raised pilothouse bluewater cruiser has garnered several glowing reviews. With top speeds over 25 knots, strong and seaworthy performance, and luxurious accommodations, the 59RP promises to be a very popular boat for the Australian market.
Grand Banks owners are also increasingly active throughout Australia, with plans in the works to establish the first Australian Grand Banks Owners Association. There are over a dozen GBOAs around the world; interested owners should contact Mr. Brown by email, at peterb@grandbanks.com.
