Grand Banks Plans Remarkable Cruising Adventure for Owners
"Grand Tour 2006: Inside Passage" is Centerpiece of Company’s 50th Anniversary Celebration

Seattle, WA – August 23, 2005 – Many people consider Grand Banks to be the ultimate cruising yachts. Now the company is planning the ultimate cruising experience for Grand Banks owners, through one of the world’s most treasured and spectacular cruising grounds.

As part of Grand Banks' 50th Anniversary celebration, “Grand Tour 2006: Inside Passage” will give a lucky group of GB owners a unique opportunity to journey together aboard their yachts on an organized cruise from Canada’s Gulf Islands to Southeastern Alaska.

“The Inside Passage to Alaska boasts some of the most spectacular and pristine cruising grounds in the world,” said David Hensel, Grand Banks’ Vice President of Marketing. “I talk to GB owners all over the world, and it’s a top destination that many of them dream to visit someday. We want to make those dreams a reality.”

The company is inviting owners worldwide to journey on the Grand Tour. There will even be Grand Banks yachts available to charter, for those unable to bring their own boats to the region.

While the Inside Passage to Alaska is a familiar route to some GB owners, Grand Banks has organized the voyage to include numerous once-in-a-lifetime experiences, excursions, celebrity guests and other noteworthy events – along with complete cruising support services by an expert team from Grand Banks.

“It’s not uncommon to see Grand Banks and other yachts cruising the Inside Passage,” said Mr. Hensel. “But very few boaters take the time along the way to explore its many remarkable natural, cultural and historic treasures. We plan to tuck into coves and harbors too intimate for the big cruise ships, and come away with a deeper enjoyment of the area than most will ever know.”

“Best of all,” he added, “Grand Banks is handling most of the planning and logistics, leaving our owners free to focus on savoring the voyage of a lifetime. What a way to go cruising!”

The Grand Tour event will launch in May of 2006, taking three weeks to reach Ketchikan in early June. Owners will have the option to spend the summer exploring Alaska on their own, or to follow Grand Banks for a return trip south. Space on the Grand Tour is limited, and there is a fee to participate. More information about the event is available online at www.grandbanks.com/grandtour.
