Purpose of the position:
The position will be responsible for all manufacturing operations at Grand Banks Yachts, insuring we meet demand in a high quality, safe, cost-effective, and reliable environment that is compliant with NMMA and CE guidelines and rules. The position will also be responsible for New Product Development/Engineering and be a key member of the Boat Development Group, who is accountable for deciding which models will be produced both today and in the future. Lastly, the position will be a member of the Executive Management Committee, who is responsible for defining worldwide strategies for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active, visible leadership to drive successful production that maintains and enhances the company's position as a premier, world-class yacht-builder ensuring superior quality and productivity.
- Accountable for successfully meeting production goals in terms of quality, safety, and timeliness of output and cost.
- Assist the plant managers in increasing productivity, efficiency and capacity at each plant.
- Work with Quality Control to eliminate manufacturing defects and reduce company-wide warranty expenses.
- Work with Purchasing department to drive down costs of materials, create alternatives to Teak as the primary wood used on GB boats, diversify procurement sources and to efficiently use the Company's capital in building appropriate inventory positions of raw materials.
- Work with Plant Managers to reduce or eliminate the number of work stoppages due to parts outages.
- Work with CFO to ensure that plants meet or exceed their budgets.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable NMMA and CE standards and ensure continuous quality improvement processes.
- Ensure efficient use of resources and control of expenses to achieve maximum productivity.
- Assess staffing requirements of key positions and employ managers of suitable caliber to whom day-to-day running of the Company can be entrusted. Furthermore, instill in those managers that they must have a succession plan.
- Ensure GB selects, hires, trains and develops an excellent workforce and ensure retention of employees.
- Oversee the continued tuning of a world class ERP system to increase factory efficiencies and improve financial performance.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years manufacturing experience, including minimum of 5 years experience as a manager of a sizeable boat-building plant.
- Proven track record of improving the building process and production flow.
- Proven ability to drive quality and productivity improvements.
- Experience in working in non-USA located plant preferred.
- Boating experience preferred.
- Credible, highly regarded reputation in the manufacturing field and in management and leadership capabilities.

Customer Service Manager, Europe |

Purpose of the position:
To represent Grand Banks in support of Dealers, Owners and Authorized Service Centers, in technical, operational, and warranty administration. To improve sales of Grand Banks Yachts through strong service and product support. To participate in the ongoing development of Grand Banks Service to the best service organization in the Yachting Industry.

General Information
The responsibility of the position entails a variety of service, production and warranty administration related tasks to support Grand Banks Dealers, Owners and Authorized Service Centers (ASC's). The position reports to the Director of Customer Service. The Customer Service Manager shall be responsible for managing European Dealer service personnel and will also work closely with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) of Europe and support the RSM in developing customer service strategies. The particular areas of responsibility (not necessarily in order of importance) include but are not limited to the areas indicated below. The duties and responsibilities may be revised from time to time as required.
- Service Representation
- Use product knowledge and experience to provide technical support for Dealers, Owners, and ASCs in regard to after sales service support.
- Provide timely support for service and warranty inquiries from Dealers, Owners and ASCs.
- Troubleshoot service and warranty issues, provide on-site management and in some cases on site-repair to Grand Banks products.
- Coordinate service and warranty matters with company Plant, Quality Control Managers, and engineering staff.
- Plan and administer training of Dealer's and ASC's key service personnel.
- Assist Dealers and ASCs with the commissioning of vessels in responsible territory.
- Notice and report areas for improvement with regard to product quality.
- Product Representation
- Provide professional, knowledgeable representation via telephone and electronic mail contacts as well as personal appearances with Dealers, Customers, ASCs and industry representatives.
- Help maintain and develop after sales service tools, programs and warranty practices aimed at improving company profitability, reducing overall warranty, and improving total turn-around time to resolution of all outstanding warranty claims.
- Attend selective Owner's and or Dealer's Rendezvous to promote positive company image.
- Warranty Administration
- Assist production facilities in managing the warranty process.
- Respond to, and manage warranty claims from Dealer's, Owner's and ASC's as directed.
- Educate and assist Dealers and ASCs in understanding and implementing warranty procedures to facilitate the resolution of customer issues.
- Report to the key personnel on warranty issues, with specific emphasis on providing process improvement associated to production.
- Develop and track warranty repair claims processing from inception through resolution.
- Establish key benchmark and measure process for improvement by monitoring warranty claims and resolution.
- Authorize warranty approval in conjunction with the factory to best path of resolution of warranty claims.
- RSM/Dealer Liaison
- Provide technical support service to RSM, Dealers, and Customers as required or necessary.
- Maintain effective professional working relationship with Dealer's in territories of responsibility.
- Provide a high caliber level of service representation to Dealer sales staff, including periodic training and educational outreach.
- Serve as a clearinghouse of knowledge and information on all Grand Banks products including design, Construction process, mechanical, structural and electrical components
Experience and General Requirements
- Strong expertise in troubleshooting and repair of all ships systems.
- Knowledgeable in marine retail service trade practices, and activities.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft windows.
- Two year Technical College degree preferred or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Five years Marine retail or wholesale service experience.
- Must be willing to travel
- Multi-linguist a plus

Project Manager, Development/Design Group |

Purpose of the job:
Support DEV in implementation and completion of new hull molds and models
Reports to:
Research and Development Manager
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the completion/assembly of prototypes (first hulls) to insure the following:
- Manage the construction of new vessels and their sub components working with both a small group of dedicated staff, alongside and in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.
- All molds (large and small) are built on time and to highest quality standards.
- Ensure that all molds are regularly updated or otherwise adjusted or modified to ensure efficient, high quality production.
- All jigs and patterns required to ensure efficient production are manufactured and delivered to production according to schedule.
- All drawings are updated and corrected to insure efficient mold production
- Manage the development of all Bill of Materials, including new part numbers, and provide updated lists to Engineering.
- Ensure proper testing and sea trials are conducted for the completed boat
- Train staff both directly and indirectly in unique building methodologies required to ensure efficient and faster production.
- Work closely with yacht design and production staff to ensure the proper completion of projects to specs, on time and within budget.
- Ensure that all work is done to the Grand Banks Quality Standards.
- Handle special projects as required.
Experience and General Requirements
- Position requires a minimum of 5 years experience in either production or semi custom boat building
- Experience in prototype development and implementation required.
- Two years, or more, direct management in a boat building company required.
- Must have working knowledge of Autocad, Rhino and other CAD software
- Experience with 3 axis and 5 axis routers a definite plus
- Required experienced in developing detailed Bills Of Materials a must
- Experience in Microsoft Project an asset.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent certificate a plus
- Team building and Communications skills required.
- Must be able to work across multiple disciplines and departments as well as diverse cultural groups
- ABYC Certification in any discipline a definite asset
